This year, our arts sector has been badly affected by COVID-19, with many having to explore digital methods and online platforms to present their work. For those in the arts field seeking to have a clear understanding of their Intellectual Property (“IP”) rights in order to better manage and monetise their IP and intangible assets, the Intellectual Property Students’ Association is proud to present the “IP Arts InfoPack”. This infopack serves as a reference guide for individuals, businesses and communities in the arts sector who might be unfamiliar with the various concepts relating to IP.
The IP Arts InfoPack complements various resources provided by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, and should be useful for artists seeking to protect their valuable creative output. The project was proudly supported by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and the NUS Centre for the Arts.

The Intellectual Property Students’ Association (IPSA) was formed in 2016 as an informal student-run community with keen interests in intellectual property (IP). Today, as a formalised student interest group within NUS Faculty of Law, IPSA's renewed mission is to raise awareness of IP rights and IP-related issues such as confidentiality and business skills by facilitating the sharing of knowledge within the club. Additionally, IPSA provides legal support to its beneficiaries and partners, allowing student-members to catch a glimpse of legal practice as an IP practitioner. IPSA has also consistently provided inputs and recommendations to IP-related Bills tabled in the Parliament of Singapore.
Our members have expressed interests in the areas of : (1) Arts, Design & Media, (2) Privacy & Information Technology, and (3) Start-ups & Enterprise. At IPSA, members are given opportunities to engage with start-ups and schools, and share their knowledge in IP. Members also attend numerous IP and technology conferences such as InnovFest Unbound, IP Week, and TechLaw.Fest in Singapore.
